BCIwiki (bciwiki.com) — In an announcement dated July 29, 2026, Science Corporation appointed Nevada Sanchez as Executive Vice President of Engineering to lead its engineering organizations. The announcement said the company was beginning the European commercial launch of its PRIMA retinal implant while expanding neural interface development and fabrication activities.
According to Science, Sanchez co-founded Butterfly Network in 2011 and until recently served as its Senior Vice President and Chief Innovation Officer. During his tenure, he conceived and led the development of an ultrasound system on a chip and built the engineering organization that took the technology from a prototype to a globally deployed platform. Science cited these experiences as the basis for his engineering leadership credentials.
Science also said it is accelerating development of its Biohybrid neural interface and Vessel perfusion programs while expanding Science Foundry and its microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) fabrication capabilities. The company views Sanchez's cross-disciplinary engineering leadership as support for these activities.
