Southwest Medical University Collaboration Reviews 16 BCI Stroke Trials
A Southwest Medical University collaboration reported a meta-analysis of 16 randomized BCI stroke rehabilitation trials involving 1,761 patients. Versus conventional rehabilitation, FMA-UE had an SMD of 0.49 (95% CI 0.26–0.73) and ARAT 0.53 (0.14–0.91). Outcomes pooled subsets of trials. No significant difference was detected between 10–15 and 20–30 sessions; more sessions were not established as better. Fourteen trials had high risk of bias for participant and personnel blinding, and most had fewer than 30 participants per group.
