Through the partnership, ANT Neuro said, HiveOne becomes available to the research community it has served for nearly 30 years. Groups working in cognition, mobility, hyperscanning and applied neuroscience can source fNIRS through the same regional teams that support their EEG work, with local sales contact and first-line technical support in their own market.
The deal extends beyond distribution. Both companies agreed to develop a system pairing ANT Neuro’s eego EEG technology with optohive’s HiveOne in a hybrid cap that holds both sensor types, with both data streams synchronized through Lab Streaming Layer. Concurrent electrophysiological and hemodynamic recording has long been a goal in neuroscience research, the announcement said, and what has slowed adoption is setup work that individual labs have largely had to solve themselves; the collaboration is intended to remove that barrier. ANT Neuro said its ambition is a solution built around its eego amplifier that makes multimodal recordings extremely simple to set up and run.
Founded in 2025 as a spin-off from ETH Zurich, optohive develops wearable, research-grade brain imaging technology based on high-resolution fNIRS, according to the announcement. ANT Neuro, founded in 1997 as a spin-off from the University of Twente, develops research-grade EEG and neuronavigation solutions from its headquarters in Berlin, Germany.
