BCIwiki (bciwiki.com) — Three Beijing municipal agencies — the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission, the Administrative Commission of Zhongguancun Science Park and the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology (北京市科学技术委员会、中关村科技园区管理委员会、北京市经济和信息化局) — jointly issued the Action Plan for Accelerating Brain-Computer Interface Innovation and Development in Beijing (2025-2030), document Jing-Ke-Fa [2025] No. 2, on January 8, 2025.
The plan sets staged targets: by 2027, Beijing aims to cultivate 3-5 potential unicorn or unicorn companies with core competitiveness and build 2-3 product experience and exhibition centers; by 2030, it targets 3-5 globally influential technology leaders, around 100 innovative small and medium-sized enterprises, and 1-2 brain-computer interface industry cluster demonstration zones. The plan organizes its tasks around five directions: strengthening original innovation (basic research, key technologies and system integration), building research and shared-technology platforms, tiered cultivation of technology companies and industry clustering, accelerating product creation and application scenarios across healthcare, elderly care, industry, education and smart living, and speeding up the development of a standards system.
