BCIwiki (bciwiki.com) — The Office of the Science and Technology Commission of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee (中共广东省委科技委员会办公室) issued the Action Plan for Coordinated Development of Brain-Computer Interface Science, Technology and Industry in Guangdong (2026-2030), dated June 5, 2026 and released on June 26, 2026.
The plan sets targets for 2030: adding 100 brain-computer interface technology companies and cultivating a group of competitive unicorns; launching more than 10 hit non-invasive BCI products while moving multiple invasive products into clinical translation with medical device registration certificates; building a set of benchmark application scenarios, including 200 BCI hospital wards in the medical sector serving a cumulative 500,000-plus patient visits; and growing the core BCI industry to the ten-billion-yuan scale. The plan also states support for Shenzhen in building a globally influential brain science and brain-machine engineering industry cluster.
